You are now familiar with Linux. Where to go? Most strive for a career in the System Administration Field. In order to be considered qualified for that kind of position, an in-depth knowledge of it’s workings. There is more to Linux than the navigation and file manipulation one learns with the Essentials exams.
Performing maintenance task with command line, installing and configuring Linux to a system and basic network configuration are all things to know and understand to be qualified as a system administrator of a Linux system / server.
Unlike the Linux Essentials, the LPIC 1 is divided up into two different exams. Each test intended to cover specific topics of Linux itself. Those objectives are listed below. Please note that this test should be taken through CompTIA however to take full advantage of what is known as the 3 in 1 advantage. If you pass both exams (LX0-101 and LX0-102) of the CompTIA Linux+ powered by LPI and you check the box to have your scores forwarded to LPI, you will receive the LPI LPIC-1 certification and instructions on how to also claim the SUSE Certified Linux Administrator (CLA) certifications.
